Arqueoticket

  Arqueoticket

A  journey through history of civilisations
The Multi-ticket offers you entry to the five museums in Barcelona with archaeological collections.

When you visit these 4 museums, you will travel back into the past of our civilisation and of other civilisations, gaining a greater understanding of the present:

Where can the most exclusive jewellesry in Barcelona be found? At the Museu d'Aqueologia de Catalunya you will find surprisingly modern necklaces which were used as ornaments in pre-history. You can also see the very latest in Greek and Roman earrings.

Is piercing a modern practice? Gods, men, women and animals had piercings in ancient Egyptian civilization. At the Museu Egipci de Barcelona you will discover how modern this ancient civilization was.

How long has packaging existed? Some of the amphorae, archeological patrimony, preserved in the Museu d'Història de Barcelona have inscriptions painted on the base of the neck or the handles. They are distant ancestors of today's logos, and they provided information about the producer, the type of wine...

How long has the all-seeing eye existed? Since time immemorial, the eye painted on the prow of a boat is the eye which sees all, warding off any danger that might be encountered. At the Museu Marítim de Barcelonayou will discover a rich vein of maritime traditions and customs.

Laberinto de Horta

In the neighbourhood of Horta, the oldest park of Barcelona can be found, the Parc del Laberint d’Horta. Designed by the Italian engineer Domenico Bagutti in 1792 at the direction of the owner of the land Joan Desvalls, the Marquis de Llupià i d’Alfarràs, it was already a fine example of a city garden, which reached its apogee when the marquis’s descendants extended the grounds under the supervision of the architect Elies Rogent with the addition of a romantic garden with flower beds, small squares, tall trees and a waterfall.

A total of 55 hectares of partially landscaped gardens were laid out according to the taste for neo-classical gardens at the time, and the park’s woodland setting give it that romantic touch. The grounds are full of hidden corners to be discovered, some of them decorated with sculptures of mythological figures.

The park is also the home of the Torre Soberana, a 14th-century country house, which was restored and redecorated in the Arabesque style in the 19th century. The park takes its name from the maze, created from cropped cypress trees, and is a charming spot for a meeting place at the foot of the Collserola range where young and old alike can enjoy their leisure time.

Mercat Gótic, Barcelona's Favorite Treasure Hunt

Every Thursday in front of the Cathedral of Barcelona, the Plaça de la Seu fills up with stalls selling all types of antiques and secondhand curiosities from coins, ceramics, dolls, keys, and scales to vintage newspapers, magazines and comics. Reborn 34 years ago on the site of an ancient traditional market of the city,

The Mercat Gotic is a place to steep yourself in fascinating history as you browse the tables full of time-worn artifacts. It’s a great way to begin a day of excursion through the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona’s medieval center—several museums of interest are close by, including the Diocesan Museum and a small restaurant dedicated to all things Dalí.

Isn' it a nice way to spend your Thursday morning?

Palau Macaya

Barcelona’s Palau Macaya is located on Passeig de Sant Joan on one of the borders of the Quadrat d’Or. It’s a modernist building made for housing by the architect Puig i Cadafalch, who also did the Casa Ametller from the same period. The influence for the Palau Macaya is clearly gothic, which can be seen in its exterior windows and the great interior staircase. The house is built around a large interior patio and its white stucco façade gives it a very Mediterranean feel. Years ago, it was the headquarters of the La Caixa Foundation until that was moved to CaixaForum.

Address: Passeig de Sant Joan, 108.
Metro: L4 and L5 Verdaguer.
Bus: 6, 15, 33, 34, 55.
Opening Hours: Tuesday-Saturday: from 11:00 to 20:00; Sundays and Holidays: from 11:00 to 15:00.

bebidas, frigoríficos, etc..;

Plaça Reial (in  Spanish Plaza Real, meaning "Royal Plaza") is a square in the Barri Gòtic of Barcelona. It lies next to  La Rambla and constitutes a well-known touristic attraction, especially at night. On the plaza are a large number of restaurants and some of the city's most famous nightclubs i  It is also known for its many outdoor venues and is a popular meeting place during the summer and the annual La Mercé-festival in September, when open air concerts take place, and during other celebrations such as New Year's Eve, often being very crowded.
The lanterns were designed by the Catalan architect  Antoni Gaudí. It ought not be confused with Plaça del Rei, also in the Barri Gòtic.

It's a nice place to make a break during your vist in Barcelona.

Poble Espanyol, an open air museum...

The Poble Espanyol ( "Spanish Town") is an open-air architectural museum, located on the mountain of Montjuïc, in our city.
It was constructed in 1929, for the Barcelona International Exhibition, that was held in Barcelona that year.
The architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch had the idea for the museum: a town in which the architecture, style, and culture of various locations from around Spain were preserved in a single place, designing an "ideal model" Spanish village, a synthesis of monumental Spain. The architects that designed the town were Francesc Folguera and Ramon Reventós.

The museum occupies a total area of 42,000 m2 and contains 117 buildings, with streets and squares reproduced to scale. As well as craft workshops, this open-air museum has a varied range of establishments where you can buy gifts and many other original items for everyday use.

Shop opening hours: winter, from 10 to 18 h; spring and autumn, from 10 to 19 h, and summer, from 10 to 20 h.

It's a nice idea for spend a beautiful and interesting day with your family.
